Good Morning, Good Night

Many of us are familiar with the infamous faceless postcards we receive on WhatsApp from our relatives or friends in response to our messages or as holiday greetings. While social networks are designed to help us stay connected with those who are close to our hearts but physically distant, they have become cluttered with viral images. On one hand, these images carry a positive context, but on the other hand, they create a gap, a breakdown in communication that hinders the important interpersonal, spiritual, and even intimate connections we value so greatly.
This project is an attempt to delve into the experience of longing for intimacy and individuality while striving to maintain these connections and share the profound energy that such connections carry. A simple trace of a loved one's creativity, something crafted with the soul in these postcards, can become one of the few, yet incredibly reliable and meaningful ways to stay connected with our relatives, observe their everyday lives, engage in lively dialogues, and share moments of happiness.
The project features archival images spanning from 2007 to 2022, including my own and my grandfather's, as well as Google satellite images. The postcards showcased in this project are created every morning and evening, sent by my grandfather to all relatives and friends.
